Activities Spirit Week

McNaughten Pointe celebrated Activity Professional Week with a full-out spirit week! Our lovely Activity Director, Shirlena Hucks, took special care and gave some extra love to her team this year because they haven't been able to have a true activity celebration in years.

The week started with Mix Match Monday and continued with Toon-Shirt Tuesday, Wild Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Fancy Friday. Gifts were given to the staff who participated in events throughout the week, including Activity Staff Trivia and a scavenger hunt.



Shirlena's birthday fell right in the middle of it all, and we were able to celebrate her and show her the gratitude she deserves! "It was nice to get a serenade from my staff and a volunteer who happens to be my daughter who just happened to be out of school due to the snow." McNaughten's Admissions Department also provided lunch for the Activities Team on this day. "I really had a multi-blessed day and week," shared Shirlena.

Shirlena surprised her staff by having an activity facilitated by our Social Services Director, Maria, so they got to play the game instead of leading it. They were so surprised and had a great time playing Family Feud. The residents were their family teams!



To end the week of festivities, the finale was dinner for our Activities Team at Afra-Grill! An absolutely delicious feast for an absolutely incredible team!

Thanks to our team of activity professionals, our residents get to engage in much more than just Bingo. Our activity programs are resident-centered, meeting individualized needs, keeping residents constantly engaged, and, most importantly, helping to improve their overall quality of life.
