End of Summer Luau
September 7, 2022
McNaughten Pointe ended the summer with a bang at our Summer Luau! Our staff, residents and families who attended had so much fun. We had delicious handmade food, live music and great conversations. The whole event wouldn't have been possible without the help of each department.
Thanks to our kitchen staff, Irene, Ted and Sherry, we had lots of food! Irene made the beautiful watermelon fruit baskets, and Mike made the pineapple trees. Veranda, our Activity Assistant, worked with the residents on the decor for the event. A big shoutout to the amazing E-Flat Jazz Band! You were a major hit! They got everybody up and groovin'!
Traditionally, this event has been in the evenings. Since the pandemic, there have been many changes, so we decided to shift a bit. We held it during our lunch hour this year for everyone to attend. One of the most exciting parts is that it was our first official major event in our newly renovated courtyard. This new makeover added to the beauty of the event! Another shoutout to Mike for investing in the look of the facility. We got all kinds of compliments from everyone. One team member said,
"10 out of 10. I would recommend!"
The positivity didn't stop there. After the event, residents and families were still talking about how much fun they had. We even had a resident pass out thank you cards to the staff with a lollipop charm attached. Our team feels so grateful to be able to deliver such a fun day for our residents.
Overall, it was an exciting event that brought everyone together with the support of the staff to ensure our residents were well taken care of and enjoyed themselves!
